The most known Dota 2 tournament is The International that is hosted by the developers of the game, Valve Corporation.

The Internationa 2011, hosted in Cologne, Germany 2011. with a total prize pot of $1.6 millions. This tournament functioned as the launch date of the Dota 2 beta.
